William Vennersten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of William Vennersten. Honkens Bengaler BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Honkens Bengaler BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Honkens Bengaler BK's William Vennersten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 18th minute of play. After having played for 21 minutes, David Eikelkamp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Eikelkamp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. William Vennersten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 25th minute of play. William Vennersten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 28th minute of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Dusett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Vennersten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

William Vennersten made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Eikelkamp in the 51st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Oskar Carlsson in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Honkens Bengaler BK getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jacek Ziemniak hit a great ball. In the 62nd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Eikelkamp to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Honkens Bengaler BK's Jacek Ziemniak got a free kick in the 65th minute. Honkens Bengaler BK's William Vennersten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of William Vennersten, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 72nd minute of play forced Honkens Bengaler BK's goalkeeper William Vennersten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Honkens Bengaler BK getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Nils-Emil Wästerberg hit a great ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, William Vennersten skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. William Vennersten was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Wim Wilmes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wim Wilmes really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. In the 92nd minute Samuel Dusett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
