After 38 played minutes XMAS got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Gianfrancesco. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. After a defensive mix-up in XMAS's zone, Mikkel Wulff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Polidori came out of the goal and Mikkel Wulff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Armando Polidori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mikkel Wulff might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Polidori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mikkel Wulff ran back to his position shaking his head. XMAS's Alessio Ascoli was substituted for Christian Zaccardi. In a very dangerous position, a player in XMAS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Armando Polidori, was totally fooled by Denmark's Chris Nygaard, who 65 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 69 minutes into the game, Bertram Svenningsen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Armando Polidori. Bertram Svenningsen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Lars Steen struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Armando Polidori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. Chris Nygaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Armando Polidori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Steen to maneuver through the defense. Armando Polidori was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Chris Nygaard showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 85 minute of play. If Augusto Navarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Denmark could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than XMAS throughout the match.
