River Plate De Lugano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scotland the free kick. Scotland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate De Lugano the free kick. The supporters of River Plate De Lugano booed when Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zac O'Donnell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute of the match, Jonatan Iratze tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alexander Higgins saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Manuel Gervaso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Alexander Higgins made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Ashton Nelson got a free kick in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Fabio Edorta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Alexander Higgins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 16 minutes into the game, Ashton Nelson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scotland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate De Lugano the free kick. Ashton Nelson hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mariano Libertad in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexander Higgins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thanks to some nice moves Fabio Edorta could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Alexander Higgins however easily saved by the left post. 25 minutes into the match, Fabio Edorta notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Scotland's Alexander Higgins. Alexander Higgins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fabio Edorta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute Saturnín Mandacovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Higgins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Gervaso, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Mariano Libertad kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alexander Higgins. That made the score 4-0 in the 41 minute of play. Jack MacKinnon's late challenge caught a River Plate De Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jack MacKinnon helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Scotland fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabio Edorta made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabio Edorta in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Higgins saved Scotland from getting behind. 53 minutes into the match, Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Libertad came free, but Alexander Higgins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Higgins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Edorta, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Fabio Edorta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexander Higgins. Scotland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabio Edorta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. When River Plate De Lugano's Saturnín Mandacovic in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scotland's goalie prevented a goal. During the 65th minute of the match Ashton Nelson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ashton Nelson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Scotland getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Ashton Nelson hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Saturnín Mandacovic notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Scotland's Alexander Higgins. Alexander Higgins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 70th minute, Pascual Ovando ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexander Higgins was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. In the 81st minute, Saturnín Mandacovic left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Plate De Lugano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. After 84 minutes, Fletcher Main mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Scotland and the River Plate De Lugano players grew even worse after the yellow card. River Plate De Lugano made a substitution. Guaberto Blasi replaced Pascual Ovando. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Fletcher Main got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 86th minute of the match Tadeusz Narbut sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexander Higgins skillfully saved the ball. After 88 minutes of play, River Plate De Lugano's Fabio Edorta made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexander Higgins was left in no man's land by his defense there! 91 minutes into the game, Fabio Edorta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 12-0. Alexander Higgins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alexander Higgins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Gervaso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Libertad in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the River Plate De Lugano players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
