To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes into the game, Faustino Almeida threw the ball into play from the sideline. Juventus EC's Erivaldo Santos quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Ziemowit Dembowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Ramalho in the 43rd minute of the match. A collision led to Juventus EC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Matias De Rossi hit a great ball. Graciano Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Bilbo Arzube made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Bilbo Arzube in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juventus EC made a substitution. Tiaguinho Lago replaced Zhuo Ming Xing. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. The supporters of Portugal booed when Juventus EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Bilbo Arzube showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by De-Jesús Håland in the 81st minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
