Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Deilmison van Basten to make the kick off. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Deilmison van Basten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With 95 minutes on the clock, Osvaldo Meireles commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Cris Courtois had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Deilmison van Basten's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A hard shot by Betão Marquez from long distance, 97 minutes into the match, got Cris Courtois's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Chants of ATHLETICO PRaiano echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Wambalamba FC had held the ball for most of the match.
