Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Roberto Puch kicked off to start the match. In the 12th minute, Roberto Puch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lanús fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Rabelani Thebile tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Roberto Puch took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Flavio Vittori to make any attempt to save it. In the 22nd minute, Jake Hursey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Cutri made in the 31st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gianpaolo Mascari immediately put the ball in play. Manuel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 34th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Lanús's goal looked a bit too open when Porziano Marchitelli came free, but Manuel Neuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Zaccheo Andolina made the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Lanús got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Gaskon. Siricio Liotta's late challenge caught a Lanús's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Siricio Liotta helped the player get up and apologised. Siricio Liotta kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Lanús's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zaccheo Andolina. Eloy Gaskon took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zaccheo Andolina got free with Manuel Neuer in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zaccheo Andolina in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Neuer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 73 minutes into the match, Porziano Marchitelli notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Lanús's Manuel Neuer. Manuel Neuer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 79 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Gaskon came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute of the game Eliseo Cutri made a throw-in which Gianpaolo Mascari played forward. 93 minutes into the game, Lanús's Eloy Gaskon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavio Vittori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Italy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
