Adriano Curto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Rene Vereijt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Abdulla Baia took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. FC Ouagadougou National were victorious despite being under pressure from Italy for much of the match.
