The supporters of Belgium booed when Pilar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Jenaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Martin Benítez had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 44 minutes, Sander Dermaut mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Belgium and the Pilar FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edward Vanderstraeten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's goalkeeper Sixto Luke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. 87 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Guus Koole came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Pilar FC's Sixto Luke got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line.
