Jan Plocek was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Barcelona's players had a chance to rest. 16 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Tibor Surovec came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dezider Šindelka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Chico Pirok kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Dezider Šindelka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibor Surovec in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 28th minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Dezider Šindelka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Netherlands's Wim Wilmes in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dezider Šindelka didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lars Meesters went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The FC Barcelona players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-2.

Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ondřej Krofta in the 55th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Dezider Šindelka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Chico Pirok got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragan Horčička in the 66th minute of play. Dezider Šindelka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 71st minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of FC Barcelona's Dezider Šindelka. Dezider Šindelka was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 74 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Chico Pirok came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer took a good shot, in the 77th minute, which hit the crossbar above Dezider Šindelka's head, and flew over the goal. FC Barcelona's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Netherlands. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dezider Šindelka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dezider Šindelka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Jan Plocek hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
