Józef Wandzik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute, one of 1. FC Krotoszyn:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for 1. FC Krotoszyn. The referee gave Cosmos 1984 NewDance a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Janusz Bubczyk, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 1. FC Krotoszyn's Czeslaw Osowski. 0-1. Zenon Jajecznica's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Czeslaw Osowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Jan Pietras got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 1. FC Krotoszyn's Czeslaw Osowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Pietras in the 19th minute of play. Czeslaw Osowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigiusz Barys in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Cosmos 1984 NewDance's goalkeeper Józef Wandzik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Krzysztof Sliwinski. In the 24th minute of the match, Krzysztof Sliwinski got a very nice opportunity to score, but Józef Wandzik was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 25th minute, Krzysztof Sliwinski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Józef Wandzik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrzej Gacek, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29thth minute of the game Jan Pietras who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1. FC Krotoszyn's Czeslaw Osowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Józef Wandzik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Cosmos 1984 NewDance from getting a goal against them. Czeslaw Osowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigiusz Barys in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 minutes 1. FC Krotoszyn's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jan Pietras who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Zenon Jajecznica got a free kick in the 37th minute. If Krzysztof Sliwinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Andrzej Gacek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Józef Wandzik was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrzej Gacek in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Józef Wandzik saved Cosmos 1984 NewDance from getting behind. 42 minutes into the match, 1. FC Krotoszyn's goal looked a bit too open when Roch Tyszka came free, but Czeslaw Osowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zenon Jajecznica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Jan Pietras notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of 1. FC Krotoszyn's Czeslaw Osowski. Czeslaw Osowski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Krzysztof Sliwinski's late challenge caught a Cosmos 1984 NewDance's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Czeslaw Osowski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Andrzej Gacek managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1. FC Krotoszyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrzej Gacek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Józef Wandzik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Czeslaw Osowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roch Tyszka, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Jan Pietras scored 1-5 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Czeslaw Osowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
