The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Bucéfalo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Peio came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romário Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Cláudio Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonel Enaut in the 15th minute. The supporters of Kekambas FC booed when Bucéfalo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blas Peio did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Cláudio Taffarel 30 minutes into the match. A collision led to Kekambas FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Eleuterio Ralondo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blas Peio got free with Cláudio Taffarel in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Blas Peio made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Bucéfalo FC's zone, Blas Peio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Taffarel came out of the goal and Blas Peio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kekambas FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Baltazar Carvalho 57 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. In the 62nd minute, Celsinho de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Esteban Lazcano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kekambas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Esteban Lazcano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cláudio Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Edgard Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Celsinho de Lara's late challenge caught a Kekambas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celsinho de Lara helped the player get up and apologised. After 75 played minutes Bucéfalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho de Lara. The audience was convinced that Blas Peio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Taffarel was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blas Peio in the 84th minute of play forced Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blas Peio during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 96 played minutes Kekambas FC got a freekick which was hit by Blas Peio. Kekambas FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
