An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pirani in the 15th minute of play forced Inter de Munique's goalkeeper Fabrício Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamílton Abreu took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luisão Secco. Luisão Secco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lucas Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that João Pirani's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabrício Simões was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo de Barros in the 30th minute of play forced Inter de Munique's goalkeeper Fabrício Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilian Loureiro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 40 minutes into the match. After 41 minutes of play, Vascogoianiense FC's José Paulo de Barros made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabrício Simões was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisão Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Carlos Meira in the 46th minute of the match. If Hamílton Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hamílton Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luisão Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamílton Abreu in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to Vascogoianiense FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Hamílton Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter de Munique's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamílton Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisão Secco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, Angelo Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Alexandre Tepedino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vascogoianiense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. In the 81st minute José Paulo de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
