Frits Evenhuis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Josué Macedo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 4 minutes into the match, FC SOLOTHURN's goalkeeper Josué Macedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frits Evenhuis. In the 9th minute, Anfilogino Sasso made a precise shot to the right of Teófilo Belém. MC ESPANHOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. MC ESPANHOL's Teófilo Belém played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anfilogino Sasso in the 15th minute of play. Josué Macedo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Máximo Palma. In the 17th match minute, FC SOLOTHURN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anfilogino Sasso to maneuver through the defense. Demetrio Scacchi hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Aldo Giovannelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anfilogino Sasso in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teófilo Belém saved MC ESPANHOL from getting behind. In the 25th minute of the match FC SOLOTHURN got a corner. MC ESPANHOL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Panait Stolniciu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Panait Stolniciu made a great header on FC SOLOTHURN's corner, it was just that MC ESPANHOL's Teófilo Belém managed to reach the ball for a save. When FC SOLOTHURN's Anfilogino Sasso in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a little luck, FC SOLOTHURN's Josué Macedo got control of the ball when Frits Evenhuis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frits Evenhuiss short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Josué Macedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC SOLOTHURN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aldo Giovannelli was slow to take the kick. During this time MC ESPANHOL's players had a chance to rest. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Anfilogino Sasso put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Teófilo Belém. After the first half FC SOLOTHURN were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anfilogino Sasso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kostas Sourpis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josué Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 58th minute Kostas Sourpis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
