Sven-Edvin Hedberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediberto Sampaio in the 8th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Aquiles Urtsin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sven-Edvin Hedberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 20th minute, Aquiles Urtsin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aquiles Urtsin struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Sven-Edvin Hedberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merengue FC. The audience was convinced that Aquiles Urtsin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sven-Edvin Hedberg was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 0-4 became the score in the 39th minute when Aquiles Urtsin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Aquiles Urtsin sped through Jörlanda's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sven-Edvin Hedberg. If Aquiles Urtsin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Merengue FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
