Carl-Chester Vallgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kostas Sourpis in the 13th minute of play. Teófilo Belém was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Olov Johnsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. In the 31st minute, Olov Johnsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teófilo Belém was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The audience was convinced that Frits Evenhuis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carl-Chester Vallgren was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 40th minute, Vasco Perdigão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kostas Sourpis in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carl-Chester Vallgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. VBL Stockholm had won after a very even match.
