Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Leonardo Melberg took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 21st minute of play forced Leeds United FC's goalkeeper Dan Lundström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan Lundström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wim Wilmes's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Bas Tuitert charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bas Tuitert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egbert Nijveldt to maneuver through the defense. When Bas Tuitert was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. In the 35th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Leeds United FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 36 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Marc Öfverman. After having played for 37 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Leeds United FC's Leonardo Melberg. But to his dismay, Leonardo Melberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Leonardo Melberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonardo Melberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 63rd minute, Leonardo Melberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leeds United FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. 77 minutes into the match, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dan Lundström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludwig Ström in the 78th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börje Lindsten in the 80th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 84th minute, which Dan Lundström however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Leeds United FC's Dan Lundström got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Börje Lindsten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Leeds United FC's goalkeeper Dan Lundström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. When the referee blew the final whistle, Leeds United FC could leave the field as winners, despite Netherlands having more of the ball for most of the match.
