The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Caetano Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. After taking down the ball on VN Keleler's corner Andreas Lund fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilson Amorim quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Stuart Byman managed to get in a good position for a shot. VN Keleler's supporters rose to their feet, but Stuart Byman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hakkı Kenan Pınar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Daniel Pimentel charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Pimentel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of VN Keleler booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Pimentel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viriato Moura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andreas Lund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Graciano Coutinho got free with Velimir Popchev in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Hakkı Kenan Pınar came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Byman in the 76th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Seyit Bozbey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stuart Byman struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VN Keleler. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stuart Byman's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. After 85 minutes, Bruno Bastos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portugal and the VN Keleler players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Bastos to maneuver through the defense. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Lund in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Stuart Byman came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for VN Keleler.
