After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Prosper Vandamme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Prosper Vandamme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind 1909 Tarnovia's goalkeeper Victor Curea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Prosper Vandamme dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn, 2-0. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. After having played for 35 minutes, Prosper Vandamme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1909 Tarnovia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Prosper Vandamme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Prosper Vandamme got free with Tommy Kahn in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Tommy Kahn managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when 1909 Tarnovia's Prosper Vandamme fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 60 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Prosper Vandamme came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulryk Podolski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prosper Vandamme, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute Jerzy Grocholski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
