Stefan Dobay blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustaf Eklund having to make a save. Gustaf Eklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Dobay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Käller in the 21st minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Aurel Crivoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Dobay came free, but Gustaf Eklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Romania getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Isac Zub hit a great ball. Sweden's Einar Hedström was substituted for Doug Traoré. In the 31st minute, Isac Zub hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mihnea Stanca's late challenge caught a Sweden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihnea Stanca helped the player get up and apologised. Mihnea Stanca hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Romania's Horea Boian got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Käller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aurel Crivoi made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Henrik Berg sent off a good shot on target. Aurel Crivoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Käller in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Fredric Hybbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sweden's Jörgen Levander was substituted for Sebastian Käller. In the 77th minute Ivar Lindqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurel Crivoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romania were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Sweden's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Isac Zub took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Isac Zub got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gustaf Eklund quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Romania's Aurel Crivoi got control of the ball when Ivar Lindqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Romania fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sweden had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
