Nàstic de Tarragona's Sixto Fraco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vacid Nefer in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Chico Vidales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nàstic de Tarragona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chico Vidales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Club Deportivo Español's Anthony Bonelli was substituted for Vacid Nefer. In the 52nd minute, Hermes Castanheira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute Nàstic de Tarragona were awarded a corner. Silvano Roca went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Emilio Freire almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Deportivo Español's Turgut Talha did a great save. Iñaki Portillo took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Turgut Talha. Turgut Talha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Augustin Negreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Turgut Talha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nàstic de Tarragona fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Deportivo Español had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
