Samuel Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octavio Toribio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Stefan Eklund made a huge save. Stefan Eklund didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angel Ruisko went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 9 minutes into the match, Björnlunda IF's goal looked a bit too open when Angel Ruisko came free, but Stefan Eklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cliff Thomas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Ekström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the game, Simon Wennersten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Cliff Thomas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 22 minutes into the match, Björnlunda IF's goal looked a bit too open when Angel Ruisko came free, but Stefan Eklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in MILTON f.c.'s zone, Simon Wennersten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cliff Thomas came out of the goal and Simon Wennersten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arvid Åberg struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Cliff Thomas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Björnlunda IF. Cliff Thomas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Wennersten in the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Simon Wennersten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cliff Thomas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Simon Wennersten fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Björnlunda IF's protests and gave Simon Wennersten a yellow card for diving instead. MILTON f.c.'s Cliff Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Wennersten in the 37th minute of play. During the 38th minute of the match Simon Wennersten completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Simon Wennersten a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A throw-in in the 42nd minute of the game was made by Luciano Tartalo with Angel Ruisko as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After some careless play in the MILTON f.c. defense, Arvid Åberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cliff Thomas. The MILTON f.c. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cliff Thomas should have stopped the shot. After the first half Björnlunda IF were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Octavio Toribio made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Onyewuchi Obikwelu in the 51st minute of play forced Björnlunda IF's goalkeeper Stefan Eklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stefan Eklund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Onyewuchi Obikwelu's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. 52 minutes into the match, MILTON f.c.'s goal looked a bit too open when Arvid Åberg came free, but Cliff Thomas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute of the game Luciano Tartalo made a throw-in which Samuel Moreno played forward. In the 57th minute Octavio Toribio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Eklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Angel Ruisko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stefan Eklund was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 59th minute, Ernst Högberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Björnlunda IF's Stefan Eklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Toribio in the 60th minute of play. In the 67th minute Björnlunda IF were awarded a corner. Edvard Hellqvist went to the cornerflag to take it. Cliff Thomas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Åberg in the 70th minute of play. Luciano Tartalo made in the 76th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Samuel Moreno. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arvid Åberg in the 79th minute of play forced MILTON f.c.'s goalkeeper Cliff Thomas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90thth minute of the game Alvaro Michael who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Björnlunda IF's Stefan Eklund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Björnlunda IF getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Stefan Hjortsberg hit a great ball. Arvid Åberg struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Cliff Thomas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Björnlunda IF. The Björnlunda IF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Björnlunda IF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
