The supporters of Portugal booed when Skyfall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Özalp Erdönmez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute of the game Graciano Coutinho made a throw-in which Caetano Moreira played forward. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 51 minutes, Daniel Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Pimentel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Andres Drogba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skyfall's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Drogba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
