After 30 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Federico Wiesendanger. After 32nd play minutes Takis Parlapidis shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Hias Nüssli and just under the crossbar into goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Takis Parlapidis in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hias Nüssli saved Switzerland from getting behind. Switzerland's Timo Siegmund managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alexandre Aveiro in the 41 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Takis Parlapidis got free with Hias Nüssli in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Takis Parlapidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Feios Porcos E Maus's zone, Jacinto Maurer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Travassos came out of the goal and Jacinto Maurer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
