Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timo Pezel, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's goalkeeper Boris Behn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timo Pezel in the 43rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Boris Behn was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Timo Pezel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Timo Pezel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldo Lizer during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes Sc Ajax Hirtenberg got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Lizer. Mathijn Doctor's late challenge caught a Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Sc Ajax Hirtenberg players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
