After a rather tough play, Portugal's Caetano Moreira got a free kick in the 20th minute. Saverio Niva scored 1-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Santana Armada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel in the 24th minute of play. Santana Armada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salvador Tate charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Salvador Tate the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Vancouver Reds:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Portugal:s goal. The referee gave Portugal a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Felipe Barreto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vancouver Reds's Santana Armada. 1-1. Portugal's attentive Daniel Pimentel managed to snatch the ball when Salvador Tate made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. Santana Armada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 played minutes Vancouver Reds got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Queirós. 47 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Vancouver Reds's Santana Armada. Santana Armada was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vancouver Reds made a substitution. Jakub Kiwior replaced Roberto Perfumo. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Saverio Niva was the one to do the kick off. Saverio Niva was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saverio Niva in the 62nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Saverio Niva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. Benicio Valentine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. Portugal made a substitution. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Benicio Valentine sped through Portugal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saverio Niva in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Daniel Pimentel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Vancouver Reds's Benicio Valentine got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Valentine came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Caetano to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greger Sandström in the 96th minute of the match. In the 99th minute, Greger Sandström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Portugal players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Vancouver Reds from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
