In the 27th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Knudsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atle Solvang helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to AEK FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Atle Solvang hit a great ball. AEK FC's Artaç Hendekli was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Kenneth Knudsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 53rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Dreifuss during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
