Slavyan Gusev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 8 played minutes FC Rogers Sosnowiec got a freekick which was hit by Teofil Jakubiak. Eugeniusz Cwojdak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Zula Kosiorek made a huge save. FC Rogers Sosnowiec's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roberto Carlos in the 15th minute. The supporters of Szczakowianka booed when FC Rogers Sosnowiec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kostas Gounaris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Slavyan Gusev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gitano Adán in the 37th minute of the match. Zula Kosiorek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiktor Bejrut in the 38th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ksawery Bielatowicz during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Rogers Sosnowiec getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ksawery Bielatowicz hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Eguzki in the 48th minute of play forced FC Rogers Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Slavyan Gusev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wiktor Bejrut stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randolph Eubanks in the 64th minute of play forced Szczakowianka's goalkeeper Zula Kosiorek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ksawery Bielatowicz came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the FC Rogers Sosnowiec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ksawery Bielatowicz couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Szczakowianka defense, Wiktor Bejrut kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zula Kosiorek. The Szczakowianka fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zula Kosiorek should have stopped the shot. In the 80th match minute, FC Rogers Sosnowiec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kostas Gounaris to maneuver through the defense. Zula Kosiorek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Randolph Eubanks in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Wladyslaw Magdziarz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Slavyan Gusev was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 90 minutes into the game, Szczakowianka's Donald Voldfrom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Slavyan Gusev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 94 minutes into the game, Wladyslaw Magdziarz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Slavyan Gusev. Wladyslaw Magdziarz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Szczakowianka's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
