Thames Ironworks FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Bäck in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Rickard Nilsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arnout Reekers. The goal made the score 1-0. With an all-out effort, Thames Ironworks FC's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rickard Nilsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Niklas Bäck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
