Miromir Szostak showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miromir Szostak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sander Dermaut in the 18th minute of play forced FC Hackspett U21's goalkeeper Joachim Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belgium were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after FC Hackspett U21's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edward Vanderstraeten took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Simon Sabbe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joachim Holmgren quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Siebe Michiels scored 1-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joachim Holmgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Hackspett U21's goalkeeper Joachim Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Casper Claes made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Shi Li Sha sent off a good shot on target. Luka Pirlo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Claes having to interfere. In the 35th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Holmgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute Belgium were awarded a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten went to the cornerflag to take it. Simon Sabbe was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yves Dervaux in the 39th minute of play forced FC Hackspett U21's goalkeeper Joachim Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the game, Edward Vanderstraeten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Joachim Holmgren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edward Vanderstraeten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Simon Sabbe hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 59thth minute of the game Miromir Szostak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Casper Claes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nils Smitt kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Joachim Holmgren in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Hackspett U21 made a substitution. Kara Melo replaced Göran Ekelund. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miromir Szostak in the 71st minute of play. A collision led to FC Hackspett U21 getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Kara Melo hit a great ball. FC Hackspett U21's Joachim Holmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 74th minute of play. Joachim Holmgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yves Dervaux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luka Pirlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Hackspett U21 made a substitution. Edvard Klemensson replaced Ye Feng Feng. In the 80th minute Miromir Szostak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Hackspett U21's goalkeeper Joachim Holmgren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Belgium booed when FC Hackspett U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils Smitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Hackspett U21 made a substitution. Alvin Brenner replaced Shi Li Sha. FC Hackspett U21's Alvin Brenner managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Simon Sabbe in the 86 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hackspett U21's zone, Edward Vanderstraeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joachim Holmgren came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Belgium played a much better game than FC Hackspett U21 and deserved their victory. The FC Hackspett U21 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
