After 35 minutes Squadra Sulista's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antal Valentin who took care of the corner kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Katona Janos during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Squadra Sulista booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Katona Janos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute Fernandinho Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Eloy Casagrande in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
