Miguel Ángel Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Viriato Moura made a precise shot to the right of Miguel Ángel Torres. LA LUZ F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Danilo Gonza made in the 47th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Felipe Barreto ran over to the corner to take the kick. 61 minutes in the game, Viriato Moura dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Dieguito Maradona kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Miguel Ángel Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 74th minute of play. Felipinho Amorims short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Miguel Ángel Torres to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by LA LUZ F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Pimentel was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. Miguel Ángel Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 80th minute of the match. Jailson Britto took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 97 minutes into the match, Jailson Britto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jailson Britto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Portugal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
