Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glauco Cruz in the 18th minute of the match. Porziano Marchitelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artur Borubar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Porziano Marchitelli ran back to his position shaking his head. After 22 minutes, Sven-Erik Wallander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Zhelezna and the Italy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sven-Erik Wallander hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes, Italy's Sigfrido Auletta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Artur Borubar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Italy reached it. Zaccheo Andolina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artur Borubar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Gartzen came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 45th minute of play forced FC Zhelezna's goalkeeper Artur Borubar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Glauco Cruz to make the kick off. FC Zhelezna made a substitution. Gilberto Garaile replaced Glauco Cruz. In the 59th minute, Italy's Porziano Marchitelli ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Artur Borubar. Artur Borubar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The supporters of Italy booed when FC Zhelezna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iliyan Rumenin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Italy's Zaccheo Andolina slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Artur Borubar. That made the score 1-3 after 68 minutes of play. Artur Borubar made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Zaccheo Andolina sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, FC Zhelezna's Artur Borubar got control of the ball when Sigfrido Auletta tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 77 minutes into the game, when Zena Busacca put in a rough tackle. The supporters of FC Zhelezna booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zena Busacca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC Zhelezna's Pavel Pranchev tried to score from far away in the 79th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Italy made a substitution. Guiscardo Davide replaced Sigfrido Auletta. After 82 played minutes FC Zhelezna got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Soares. The long shot by Siricio Liotta in the 83rd minute really tested Artur Borubar's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Italy's Siricio Liotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Afiq Boon, made in the 85th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 93rd minute of play forced FC Zhelezna's goalkeeper Artur Borubar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Italy eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
