Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Matthieu Richardot started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Matthieu Richardot sent off a good shot on target. Gerold Zollt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerold Zollt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 18 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Matthieu Richardot tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerold Zollt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Lars Meesters fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gerold Zollt quite easily take care of the ball. It was a well-played corner which Egbert Nijveldt managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 34th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerold Zollt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. 36 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerold Zollt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ovidiu Poenaru in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Gerold Zollt to make any attempt to save it. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidiu Poenaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidiu Poenaru came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
