Portugal's Daniel Pimentel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lambis Vrinios in the 35 minute of the game. Daniel Pimentel struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Manolis Ntouvaris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Graciano Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Graciano Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manolis Ntouvaris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manolis Ntouvaris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lionel-Andrés Messi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Elssen in the 73rd minute of play. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Manolis Ntouvaris came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Felipe Barreto. But to his dismay, Felipe Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Drafi's Manolis Ntouvaris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Drafi from getting a goal against them. Manolis Ntouvaris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kleon Sgouros, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute.
