Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Julian Dillard started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Viriato Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ubaldo Fillol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Felipe Barreto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ubaldo Fillol quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 7th match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Ángel Santoro to maneuver through the defense. After 8 played minutes, Portugal's Felipe Barreto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ubaldo Fillol came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portugal reached it. If Daniel Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bryce Ulrich's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bryce Ulrich helped the player get up and apologised. Bryce Ulrich hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The corner ended in Felipe Barreto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but C. A. Independiente's Ubaldo Fillol did a great save. Portugal's Graciano Coutinho pulled a muscle in his back after 29 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Graciano Coutinho. In the 29th minute, one of C. A. Independiente:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for C. A. Independiente. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Portugal. Felipe Barreto stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ubaldo Fillol. 0-1. Viriato Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ubaldo Fillol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viriato Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ubaldo Fillol. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Viriato Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. Ubaldo Fillol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 42 minutes, Daniel Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Pimentel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Daniel Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Pimentel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ubaldo Fillol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. Viriato Moura was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ubaldo Fillol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Pimentel scored 0-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ubaldo Fillol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 83rd minute, Miguel Ángel Santoro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubaldo Fillol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 84th minute of play. Viriato Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ubaldo Fillol was a little too slow when Felipinho Amorim got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 94th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Ubaldo Fillol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryce Ulrich in the 96th minute of play. The C. A. Independiente fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Portugal were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
