Bosse Spendrup hit a great ball. Florentino Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yves Dervaux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Florentino Herauso having to make a save. Florentino Herauso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 7th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Polo Quinteros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Casper Claes. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 19 minutes Belgium's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arnaldo Chano who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Santa Lucia de Merlo's corner Arnaldo Chano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Casper Claes quite easily take care of the ball. Lenny Clocheret's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Florentino Herauso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match Belgium got a corner. Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edward Vanderstraeten ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Belgium's Yves Dervaux to fire away a dangerous shot which Florentino Herauso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Sander Dermaut hit a great ball. Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Herauso having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso. Florentino Herauso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Belgium were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. M. Agus Young's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Claes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 59 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Vanderstraeten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florentino Herauso. Santa Lucia de Merlo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Ermegildo Salamon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when M. Agus Young came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Belgium's Florentino Herauso threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edward Vanderstraeten, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Lucia de Merlo from getting a goal against them. Nils Myhr hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 74 minutes into the match, Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalkeeper Florentino Herauso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. In the 79th minute, M. Agus Young made a precise shot to the right of Casper Claes. Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by M. Agus Young in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Herauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Florentino Herauso in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by M. Agus Young in the 95th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Belgium could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Santa Lucia de Merlo throughout the match.
