In the 18th minute Teofilo Adrio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Axisa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Teofilo Adrio came free, but Mike Axisa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Järvenperä in the 20th minute of play. MDQ Raptors FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Leszek Cupial scored to the left of an out of position Cosme Francesco, making the score, 2-0. Cosme Francesco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leszek Cupial in the 24th minute of play. Leszek Cupial fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosme Francesco having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, MDQ Raptors FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Bolas came free, but Cosme Francesco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, MDQ Raptors FC's Cosme Francesco got control of the ball when Kim Bolas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Järvenperä stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the MDQ Raptors FC defense, Leszek Cupial kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cosme Francesco. The MDQ Raptors FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cosme Francesco should have stopped the shot. Sliema Dragons FC's Matteo Borda was substituted for Giovanni Demicoli. After 68 minutes, Baran Erozan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sliema Dragons FC and the MDQ Raptors FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo Rocendo got free with Mike Axisa in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of MDQ Raptors FC booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matteo Borda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 played minutes MDQ Raptors FC got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Venceslao. After a defensive mix-up in MDQ Raptors FC's zone, Dejan Cassar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosme Francesco came out of the goal and Dejan Cassar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Daniel Järvenperä's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mike Axisa was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Cosme Francesco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leszek Cupial, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Leszek Cupial struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Cosme Francesco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sliema Dragons FC. In the 92nd match minute, Sliema Dragons FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baran Erozan to maneuver through the defense.
