In the 7th minute Breno Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Rotariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul defense, Zvonimir Prestin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esen Sanal. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esen Sanal should have stopped the shot. In the 14th minute Lucio Siekkötter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Rotariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Lucio Siekkötter got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. David Rotariu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Leroy Kluttig hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Matthew Wagner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucio Siekkötter made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, PoWer SC 2K5's goal looked a bit too open when Lucio Siekkötter came free, but David Rotariu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 52nd minute of the match S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a corner. PoWer SC 2K5's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lei Feng Yan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Krisztián Véber getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 59th minute Lucio Siekkötter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Rotariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucio Siekkötter in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Rotariu saved PoWer SC 2K5 from getting behind. PoWer SC 2K5's David Rotariu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krisztián Véber in the 62nd minute of play. Lucio Siekkötter's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, David Rotariu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hector Todor took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esen Sanal. Esen Sanal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. David Rotariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Siekkötter in the 71st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrick Middendorf during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when PoWer SC 2K5 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Middendorf didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Breno Vergílio made a precise shot to the right of David Rotariu. PoWer SC 2K5's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. 83 minutes into the match, PoWer SC 2K5's goal looked a bit too open when Lucio Siekkötter came free, but David Rotariu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Rotariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Siekkötter in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Faustão Châton hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, Faustão Châton fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched S.E.R. Caxias do Sul eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
