Bernardino Nevada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustaquio Jaizki in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Amadeo Belmiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Congo Bongo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético Atlanta the free kick. The referee gave Club Atlético Atlanta a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eustaquio Jaizki, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Congo Bongo's Bernardino Nevada. 0-1. Congo Bongo's Bernardino Nevada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Congo Bongo from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Congo Bongo's zone, Edgard Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardino Nevada came out of the goal and Edgard Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Club Atlético Atlanta walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
