In the 27th minute of the match, Eneko Quesada tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Arthur Blain fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Couto Mixto F.C.'s protests and gave Arthur Blain a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Couto Mixto F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Blain didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
