Hummerfiskarna were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Florin Răducioiu took the corner. In the 17th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Bastos to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Bolli Bolla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Bolli Bolla came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Hummerfiskarna's Arnaldo Queirós. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Holger Mattsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Holger Mattsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arnaldo Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bolli Bolla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaldo Queirós's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. When Arnaldo Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Hummerfiskarna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Queirós couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Hummerfiskarna booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graciano Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hummerfiskarna's Tomas Gorbea managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Faustino Almeida in the 62 minute of the game. Arnaldo Queirós struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hummerfiskarna. After 67 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Miranda. Hummerfiskarna's Bennvar Maradona was substituted for Hana Banana. Hummerfiskarna made a substitution. Edwin Söderberg replaced Rickard Malmström. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. Hummerfiskarna's Andrea De Toro was substituted for Arnaldo Queirós. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrea De Toro went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. If Andrea De Toro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrea De Toro in the 74th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Faustino Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bolli Bolla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85thth minute of the game Bolli Bolla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 87 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Florin Răducioiu who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Hummerfiskarna's corner Andrea De Toro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilson Amorim quite easily take care of the ball. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Olayo in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Andrea De Toro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-3. Felipinho Amorim scored 5-4 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Holger Mattsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Andrea De Toro might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrea De Toro ran back to his position shaking his head. 96 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Andrea De Toro came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
