Match Report

Adapazarı Stadyumu
Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0)
It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Önder Kornes kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Switzerland's Hias Nüssli got control of the ball when Gabriel Vaagen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sakaryaspor were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Switzerland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ümit Yaşanur took the corner. Ümit Yaşanur made a great header on Sakaryaspor's corner, it was just that Switzerland's Hias Nüssli managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanos Saatsakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuele Kunz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Switzerland's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gabriel Vaagen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 15 minutes into the match, Gabriel Vaagen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hias Nüssli. Switzerland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabriel Vaagen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Switzerland's Hias Nüssli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Switzerland from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo von Känel in the 23rd minute of play forced Sakaryaspor's goalkeeper Thanos Saatsakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Çeliker Dölek. Çeliker Dölek might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hias Nüssli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Çeliker Dölek ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Vaagen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hias Nüssli having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Sakaryaspor's Gabriel Vaagen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hias Nüssli. Hias Nüssli yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 39th minute, Çeliker Dölek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sakaryaspor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Gabriel Vaagen in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hias Nüssli, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hias Nüssli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Çeliker Dölek's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuele Kunz to make the kick off. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Switzerland's goalie and right to Baransel Akça. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Switzerland's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Timo Siegmund kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Switzerland defense, Önder Kornes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hias Nüssli. The Switzerland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hias Nüssli should have stopped the shot. When Gabriel Vaagen came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Sakaryaspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Vaagen couldn't finish the play. 67 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Kadri Adılhan came free, but Hias Nüssli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dinçer Pekel might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hias Nüssli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dinçer Pekel ran back to his position shaking his head. Ahmet Kadri Adılhan took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hias Nüssli. Hias Nüssli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Dinçer Pekel scored 6-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hias Nüssli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabriel Vaagen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sakaryaspor's Ahmet Kadri Adılhan got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ahmet Kadri Adılhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Hias Nüssli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Switzerland's Hias Nüssli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Vaagen in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Switzerland's zone, Sezer Kutertan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hias Nüssli came out of the goal and Sezer Kutertan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmet Kadri Adılhan might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hias Nüssli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ahmet Kadri Adılhan ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sakaryaspor fans cheered their team off the field, for while Switzerland had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
