Nathaniel Burnett's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Flavio Vittori firmly grabbed it by the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Nathaniel Burnett made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Porziano Marchitelli got free with Sidney Motta in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Porziano Marchitelli took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Sidney Motta to make any attempt to save it. Rogério da Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flavio Vittori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rogério da Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. 78 minutes into the match, Imbituba - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Sidney Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sigfrido Auletta hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. A collision led to Italy getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Zena Busacca hit a great ball. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. The supporters of Imbituba - FSCMZ booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zena Busacca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Fonseca came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Sidney Motta successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 87 minutes into the game, Guiscardo Davide recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sidney Motta. Guiscardo Davide showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Siricio Liotta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Motta having to interfere. Sidney Motta made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Adriano Curto sent off a good shot on target. Italy's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
