Walmir Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Ruben, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Ruben's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Claes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's Álvaro Sergipano in the 25th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Casper Claes was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Belgium through an amazing save. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when Marco Ruben tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zézinho Coutinho's late challenge caught a Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zézinho Coutinho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Marco Ruben dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Casper Claes, 2-1. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walmir Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 38th match minute, ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamdullah Karanalp to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the game, Belgium's Lenny Clocheret nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walmir Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Walmir Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 44th minute of play.

ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ made a substitution. Hudson Abreu replaced Leonel Romero. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edward Vanderstraeten made a kick off. Walmir Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yves Dervaux in the 55th minute. Casper Claes came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's Marco Ruben. But to his dismay, Marco Ruben quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Ruben in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Claes saved Belgium from getting behind. Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's goalkeeper Walmir Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yves Dervaux. 70 minutes into the match, Marco Ruben notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Belgium's Casper Claes. Casper Claes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Walmir Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yves Dervaux in the 76th minute. ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's Walmir Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-3. Chiquinho Quirino's late challenge caught a Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chiquinho Quirino helped the player get up and apologised. Walmir Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yves Dervaux in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Ruben in the 97th minute of play. Belgium's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
