Jeremy Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Olaru in the 2nd minute of the match. The corner led Romania's Vasile Ciumak to fire away a dangerous shot which Jeremy Nicholas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Olaru in the 10th minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costica Vladimiri's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Costica Vladimiri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremy Nicholas was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Carol Stinga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Nordmark, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 17th minute Alex Serban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carol Stinga made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Edgardo Silva sent off a good shot on target. After 35 minutes Romania's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Glen Conklin who took care of the corner kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Olaru in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremy Nicholas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute of the match Romania got a corner. New England Minas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adam Olaru ran over to the corner to take the kick. Carol Stinga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Silva in the 38th minute of the match. When Romania's Alex Serban in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye New England Minas's goalie prevented a goal. Jeremy Nicholas came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Romania's Costica Vladimiri. But to his dismay, Costica Vladimiri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgardo Silva made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Adam Olaru took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Jeremy Nicholas to make any attempt to save it. In the 64th minute, Adam Olaru made a precise shot to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. New England Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. New England Minas made a substitution. Tio Lio replaced Edgardo Silva. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavian Vaduva, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Oscar Nordmark struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Carol Stinga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New England Minas. Carol Stinga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Tio Lio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 87th minute Tio Lio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carol Stinga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Romania's zone, Tio Lio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carol Stinga came out of the goal and Tio Lio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Pangratiu in the 93rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octavian Vaduva got free with Jeremy Nicholas in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
