The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. Ronaldinho Fenomeno might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wiliam Furtado in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Eikelkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Facundo Campa hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arif Oğuz Semdin, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Netherlands's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
