When Stan Pitre fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azzurri FC's protests and gave Stan Pitre a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Azzurri FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Stan Pitre hit a great ball. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Loramendi Valdivia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Azzurri FC's Rosario Cardona slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Tommy Kahn was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Jules Barrett capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jules Barrett really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 27th minute of the match, Rosario Cardona got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tommy Kahn was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jules Barrett, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Albin Holweck hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Jules Barrett struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azzurri FC. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Albin Holweck hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosario Cardona got free with Tommy Kahn in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Loramendi Valdivia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 37th minute of play. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Rosario Cardona tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th minute, Jules Barrett reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tommy Kahn. The goal made the score 3-0. Loramendi Valdivia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Sachs's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Carlos Tello scored 4-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jules Barrett was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Tello came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Azzurri FC booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Sachs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azzurri FC made a substitution. Nelson Jodion replaced Wally Lécuyer. In the 73rd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Sachs to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 77 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jules Barrett in the 78th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Azzurri FC were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Germany's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Denis Redd took the corner. In the 83rd minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loramendi Valdivia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Frank Sachs almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Azzurri FC's Loramendi Valdivia did a great save. 87 minutes into the game, Frank Sachs recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Loramendi Valdivia. Frank Sachs showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-1.
