The Sails Stitinum fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfred Tychy should have stopped the shot. After having played for 94 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Sails Stitinum fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
