Michail Antonio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 5th minute Ray Cornell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute of the match, João Augusto Baiano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jesus Satordi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Fluminense DF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vivaldo Moreira in the 8th minute. A nice corner shot did that Vivaldo Moreira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jesus Satordi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jesus Satordi was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and João Augusto Baiano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. João Augusto Baiano really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 14thth minute of the game Adam Cornell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fluminense DF's Patrick Neto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Sheldon in the 16th minute of play forced Fluminense DF's goalkeeper Patrick Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Bruce Sheldon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Patrick Neto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jesus Satordi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Décio Cunha in the 23rd minute of the match. Nuno Lopez lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fluminense DF! Gerry Pullen walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Patrick Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Cornell in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Fluminense DF's Vivaldo Moreira got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute, Gerry Pullen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrick Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Cornell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Sheldon, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 66th minute, Adam Cornell fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Patrick Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michail Antonio in the 68th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's Nilton Barros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jesus Satordi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nilton Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Satordi having to interfere. Bruce Sheldon struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Patrick Neto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elizabeth Three Lions FC. 88 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's goal looked a bit too open when Michail Antonio came free, but Patrick Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adam Cornell scored 1-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick Neto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Patrick Neto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam Cornell's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Elizabeth Three Lions FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
