Preator Edikt's Jim Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Décio Cunha in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute Horia Tătaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horia Tătaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Neto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Horia Tătaru notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Fluminense DF's Patrick Neto. Patrick Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horia Tătaru in the 16th minute of play forced Fluminense DF's goalkeeper Patrick Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Fluminense DF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrick Neto should have stopped the shot. Germán Kanø struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jim Hellström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fluminense DF. Nilton Barros hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute Horia Tătaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Preator Edikt getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Fellipe Vianna hit a great ball. After the first half Preator Edikt were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Décio Cunha was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Tătaru came free, but Patrick Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horia Tătaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Neto having to interfere. Jim Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germán Kanø in the 62nd minute of play. Stig-Ove Blomqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Patrick Neto made a huge save. When Horia Tătaru came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Preator Edikt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horia Tătaru couldn't finish the play. Patrick Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Tătaru in the 67th minute of the match. When Stig-Ove Blomqvist fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Preator Edikt's protests and gave Stig-Ove Blomqvist a yellow card for diving instead. Stig-Ove Blomqvist hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Tătaru came free, but Patrick Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Fluminense DF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. 94 minutes into the match, Horia Tătaru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrick Neto. Fluminense DF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horia Tătaru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-8. When the final whistle sounded Preator Edikt left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fluminense DF.
